The Gallup Poll on Saturday released the first job-approval rating for President Obama, based on interviews during his first three full days in office: 68 percent.

cool! i'm not happy abouth his switching the mexico city act (it made it so our taxes didn't help overseas abotions) but i knew it was coming and his other stuff seems good! i hope he's as good as the world wants him to be.

the js love him, they all call each other obama and say YES WE CAN to strangers on the street. which is funny when it's said to people like every other foreigner in the area, i'm the only 'merican other then sage up in akinagawhatever.

the news is on israel stuff, clips from gaza :( it's so sad, those people out there. one kid wrote something about killing pakistanians on the wall, he's like, 5? oh man.

well, japan's been good. yesterday kei invited me to come over to takehara with some other girls in our class, we did the old fav, purikura, and ate at this restaurant, joyfull. idk if it's misspelled accidentally, or for a pun. haha

this time next week i'll be on a jet prane!! so if you were oging to write to me, DON'T! hahaha :)

see you next week in merikaaaaaa i guess:)

its been a billion years! sorry :(

on the new year's eve tko and i stayed up together watching the kohaku special, which is the big japanese new year tv show. all the year's top singers sing their hits. at midnight we ent to the tiny temple in onori, only this time there was a priest and priestess there. we tossed in 100 yen and got some sake and went home. it was fun.

new year's day we (still me and tko, yu was in the middle of a three day temper tantrum and sou was at his father's, who i met, by the way, who is nice sober and creepy drunk) broke open the new year's food which was special and delicious. then we went to see junko, since her fam is a temple fam they has a party for all the members of their temple. it was nice, there was a grabbag and stuff. after the guests left junko showed me their speical doll-festival dolls and her husband showed me a legit samurai sword from the 1700s. it was super cool, i have this photo of me with it that i am too lazy to upload right now.

2nd day tko, sou (!!!) and i went to miyajima, it's this famous shrine, one of the 3 most beautiful places in japan officially. there were tons of tourists. there's a us army base nearby so i think that's why we saw so many families with small kids, wives and girlfriends visiting their guys. it was nice. tko insisted on buying me a lucky talisman (you can be religious in japan but it's expensive) and i asked for the one that promises safe driving...i'll need it.

3rd day we went to takehara, we were invited to have lunch with a rich docter and his fam. i loved his grandkids. akane and sou (their sou) have an american grandpa so they can speak pretty good english even if they can't write it (akane wrote 'special fried' on one of our purikuras lololol forever) and that was cool.

4th we went to a concert in mihara! i met some of tkos old students, they were mad cute. they are in college now. the mom of the one whose name i forgot treated us to ice cream, which was nice if not sort of...really cold seeing as it was january.

...and that's my exciting holiday! now i am back at school
i know nick is planning a huge exchange student get together sunday, but i can't go, we're having sou's birthday party. curse sou :(

so yesterday i met my host dad, after 4 months, hahaha. he was very drunk, that is all i can think of to say. and he gave me a plate he made. haha. we met the whole side of that family, mr. akimotos mom and 2 brothers and their kids.

the two older guy cousins were also drunk. lol drinking in japan is probably like drinking in europe, from what sumit and freja have told me.

anyway it was okay.

i finally got my christmas box from my family, it is very nice. sou liked his, it was shonen jump, it is a manga magazine, and i don't know about yu because she was sleeping when we got home, and tko went to bed after me, but i am sure they both liked their gifts.

today i am sending my big box of stuff home so i can still get on the airplane.

i have to start working on my speech. ugh. it is very easy but i am crap at memorizing things. i wish i could just read it. oh welllll nothing is easy in japan!

right now there is a drama about japanese whores in the 50s on. yu and okasan find it neat. i wish i knew more japanese because i am sure i would love it if i knew what was going on.

it is going to cost a lot of money to send home my boxes :( it is 13 kilos (how many pounds is that?) but it looks like it'll be about 12000 yen. yuck. that is all my gift money from my grandparentals. japan is too frikkin expensivvve

tommorow i will meet my host father! i know right? i've only been here for 4 months. and i guess my host grandma too. weird. i wish i had met them at the beginning, now i have to go through the whole awkward meeting you thing again.

the whores are trying to kill each other with knives and strangling each other and stuff. american soldiers are saying dirty things in english which is awkward. and now they are raping a chick WTF AMERICA WHY ARE WE SHOWN LIKE THIS? a japanese guy just shot the american who shot back...oh my.

i like odenkun. it is a show about talking japanese food. i recorded an episdoe where odenkun and daikon sensei go to the moon to save the moonbunnies, it is so cracked out but cute. i found a link: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=5039. the site says it has a plot but that is a lie, it is all random episodes.

you should all check it out directly.

merry christmas!

as christmas is not a holiday in japan, yu and toshiko are out picking up yu's report card from school. i wish her luck.

yesterday, christmas eve, was great! i met hoe and sumit and suany on the train to akitsu at 9:41. we went to the isshi's house, that is where tko has her wednesday lessons, and we made christmas cakes and curry and has breakfast in that way.

we came back to onori and played the game of life...in japanese! it was weird. it had a special board called world stage. even sou played! he likes hoe, they are both big anime people.

then we went to takehara, yu came too. sumit and hoe wanted to see the historical palce but all we really found was a temple. we talked a lot, all four of us had basically the same childhood hahaha, with jackie chan adventures and making sims drown in the pool and stuff.

we did purikura, which was mad fun of course, and i saw ami and ayaka from school. they were waiting for their boyfriends (christmas in japan is datenight and new year's is family time)

we went to the church a little early and met tko and her 3 friends, who played that night. it was a really great service - exactly the same as at home, with candles and hymns. sumit's host mom, nitta-san, met us, with sumit's host sis kanako. they gave us a ride back to onori - we were singing whatever annoying songs we could think of, gems include suany teaching us the spanish in the macareina and stacy's mom - and then when we got back, nitt-san gave us all gifts! i got rilakkuma stuff which was sweet.

even yu said she had a nice time. and now it is christmas, the postman will come with a gift from the youthgroup soon, and i will see you all soon, in 37 days! byebye :)

i just talked on the phone in j! oh man! see the youth group sent me a package but sou and yu were of course too antisocial to open the door. so i had to call the post office. oh man it was so scary. the girl only spoke japanese.

i found a scrubs cast charlie brown christmas. i like it! though it is not scrubs' best.

and the real charlie brown, which is my one and only christmas cartoon:

merry christmas guys! and the new year.

hi babes!

so yeasterday was fun! i was cleaning my room an around 2 thirty i got bored and decided to go to the little store in onori and get some lunch. i did, but on my way back i saw at the end of the road a set of stairs going up into the mountains. COOL, i thought, and went to go investigate. they went to a shrine on a little hill. i saw a path, though, and i thought maybe the hill went higher. it didn't; the path ended quite abruptly. but there was this cool valley - and i thought there might be a stream in it. i couldn't see it for all the trees but it seemed like a fantastic adventure to go crashing down a hill and break dead trees and almost kill myself.

it was. the valley had no river, but it was coated in ferns that came up to my knees. i sat down there and started eating, but then i thought, a valley is a cold sort of place, isn't it? i would rather eat on a mountaintop. and to my left there was in fact an actual mountain. the mauntains in jtown are all covered in trees, so i figured i could get up if i kept grabbing on them. and i did! the only injury i got was, i fell forward and my thumb landed on a thorn. but you can't even see that now.

the top of the mountain was lovely, all sandy and comfy. there was a cowfarm (THE cowfarm, the one that makes onori stink like poo all the time) and they were playing japanese music...i guess to calm down the cows or entertain the workers or something? hahaha. so i took of my sweatshirt and my shoes and socks and ate.

i got halfway through my lemonade before i was like, wow what a funky after taste! i looked at it and it said お酒 on the label, which is, osake, sake, alcohol. WOWOWOWOW, the lady in the store just sold it to me and all. i didn't finish it, i still had to get down the mountain and i don't hold booze too well. but i thought it was funny.

i was going to go down the other side from where i came up and keep going north but i saw a legit path going west. it connected like 2 or 3 mountains. i must say, i am LEGEND at slip 'n slide: mountain adventure. which is what i called it when i stepped on old leaves, lost my balance, and went sliding down the old rock. (my socks are ruined) anyway, i found neat things: a meadow of grass that i lay down in, a big old stone sewer, i was going to go down and see it closer but some old stairs distracted me, and an old tiny orange grove that i don't think has been used in years. i picked some oranges! they are very bitter but tasty. i liked it there better, it wasn't a slope, it was old ridges that i could sort of hop down.

i got down to a real grove ebventually, somewhere between takehara and onori. hahaha an old farmer was on his orange road as he passed and he looked SO suspicious. like, why did some white chick just drop out of them mountains? she be retarded, that one!

which may or may not be true. anyway i followed the trainrails and got back to onori, discovered a neat little footbridge that i could cross to get to my side of the tracks and was home at 5:15.

it was AWESOME. i'm not sorry i didn't bring a camera, the camera might have broke, and also, i wanted the stuff i saw to be for me. you understand.

RIGHT gotta go. sumit and hoe are making speeches and suany and i are going to laugh offer moral support.

i am typing my goodbye speech now. i wanted to say it on monday to get it over with, that's when xmas break starts, but i'll have to wait till jan. 7 (clara's birthday lol) to say it, because tsutsui sensei wants me to talk about my xmas adventures in japan and obviously those haven't happened yet.

school is okay. today i fialed gym again, it is badminton on mondays. i am paired with saki who is nice but overeager. so she charges the birdie and i sort of swat at it and we miss it everytime. endo and megumi beat us 30-4 but that was the worst, ayaka and yuki only had 25 to our 16. (i am an athletics queen obviously)

i really like mai. she is a third year who is a champ. i forget her friend's name, but i like her, too, she is funky.

honestly there is nothing too exciting going on right now...next week sumit and hoe have to make speeches, but me and suany don't, hurray!

that's all
except that my host mom is sooo cute. she made little pokemon snacks for the christmas aprty, which was a nice party by the way.

hi everyone how are yizzle.
it has been a while SORRY LUKE YOU PUNK

i got an xmas box from my aunt lisa the other day, it rocks. it had granola bars. i am eating one now.

the incredibles was on tv, i watched it in english, i couldn't help it. i filmed some commericials, i will upload them probably when i get home.

anyway, japan is okay. i'm a little tired though. i don't see masaki too much, she is busy studying for her college retest. ummm i like this girl mai, she is a third year, she is tots cute. only she scared my so much today, we were walking home and she grabbed me and i went all OHMYGOOOOSHSHH.

um, hiroshima was awesome, when tko and i went. photos on facebook. thejlpt, that's japanese profiency test, was good. i might have passed. i thought i would fail for sure. i met a bunch of other exchange students from other chapters. i liked freja, she is from denmark, and this kid nick, an ozzy and insane.

sunday is an afs xmas party. we have to make food from our countries and i am making hamburgers man. i am a straigt up american girl as tom petty said.

after this i have, what, 49 days. i am down with this. christmas break starts on the tuesday after next, it'll be good. anyway, i am looking forward to break. i will probably just veg, but i am excited about going to miajima for new year's, it's supposed to be gorgeous. i will probably go with toshiko. it'll be sweet.

i made thanksgiving dinner with the just add water dry food deb sent me!

it was good. i made chicken. only...yu made this nasty face and wouldn't eat it. she's been a complete nightmare this week. the night before she had a temper tantrum and wouldn't eat because tko and i were 'too loud'. we were quiet and in the kitchen, which is a common family room. she wanted to be alone. she has a bedroom, jeez. i really dislike her, but i have decided not to let her spoil my time, it's only two months left. we have new seats in the clssroom, thank goodness, i don't sit in front of her anymore. (this tuesday, i didn't understand a math problem. seo sensei had to explain and i really DID NOT get it...and then i heard yu making this passive-aggressive little clucking thing she does when she is mad. HELLO GIRL NOT YOUR PROBLEM)

she is also very fake. but whatever.

tomorrow i am going to Hiroshima!! i am so happy, very psyched. toshiko drew up a fab plan, it sounds great. i also found a ton of english books in the library. and german ones. the name in one is susanna germasomething. i guess they are all hers but who is she? the other exchanges were libbyjuliettelena. mysteryyyy.

next week, that sunday, is my jlpt test!! i hope i pass, but it doesn't really matter to me. it would be cool to get it, but i'm not going to go nuts over it. just study.

i still have not met my host dad!
but soon, christmas break, tko said we might. i would like to, just to meet the kind of weirdo who would pay for a kid he didn't want to meet.

i bought new years cards today! they are pooh bear, haha.

okay i guess that is all. only 64 days to go!

hi blog!

friday was pretty cool. well, not for masaki - i waited after school with natalie and isihmura-sensei and masaki for her college result. she didn't get it. of course she didn't! the test was in english, 100 people took it, and ten people passed. that's like applying to juilliard. she is determined, she'll take the test again in janurary.

i was sort of late getting to the train though, and then azusa and yu and megumi stopped me. they wanted to listen to my zen. azusa knows 'i kissed a girl', hahaha! yu wanted to listen to ladies choice, she is a hairspray and zafron nerd. (my fav was when she asked this hiroshima college exchange from maryland if he had met efron)

this was fun, but i ended up missing the 4:11 train. whatever...hanai and..ohno i forget her name and she told...SHIKKA, hanai and shikka, my bffls (they are in 3rd year like masaki) showed up and we talked which was nice. i also saw miyoshi's group, that's her, ami, ayaka, anchi, and yuki, only yuki wasn't there, and they waved to me. i have been talking to them a lot more lately, at first they really didn't try to understand my j but i guess i've improved a little.

Saturday was an afs thing. i took the train to onomichi (i am SO GOOD at transferring trains now) and met hoe and sumit and their teacher, tony, (japanese) who gave us a ride to mitsugi. we met suany there, and a whole bunch of hiroshima's transfer college kids and a couple of alts. i am friendswith most of them on facebook now :) it was mitsugi jr/sr high school's 8th 'culture day'. we got to make j food - okonomiyaki, legit delicious - and we had some indonesian food, this funky peanut sauce. we introduced ourselves with slideshows, mine was super awkward, tom from england, he's a teacher, was funny even though he is still mad that usa threw his tea in the harbor. i had to go a bit early for my train but i missed it anyway because i was waiting on the wrong platform! wow, what a doof.
i got to tadanoumi and saw masaki and mana on the train! those dummies, they study on the weekends too, and mana is already in college. i told them to have fun on sunday.

my sunday rocked! toshiko and i went to fukushima and to this cool museam with an exhibit of a japanese princess's stuff. my fav was this little box she used to sit in and be carried in. it was very comfy-looking, but too small for people today. on the second floor was an exhibit of old japanese stuff. we were allowed a few pictures here, in this recreation of a j village. toshiko bought some souvenirs for deb! she will sed them as christmas gifts. i really wish they could meet each other.
anyway...then we ate in the station. i had pasta with shrimps and mushrooms and MELON SODA to drink. melon soda is SO GOOD.
then back to the museam, we saw a marie antoinette exhibit! in japanese, kirakira means something sprakly. giragira is something TOO sparkly and that was how toshiko descriped marie's stuff.
after that we had to get some new printer cartridges for making new year's cards. we thought there was a computer store across from the station...wrong. we had to walk to deodeo, like 6 miles! it was hard, but nice. we talked a lot. we saw this neat concert hall, where toshiko once gave a concert in, it was huge. and this abandoned house...you know in ameria how abandoned places are all fenced in and marked danger, like that guy on the way to target in east windsor? (only in you are from cranbury, i guess) in japan they are just left there. this one used to be a barber but it was all packed with old book and a bike and all odds and ends. i sort of want to make it the setting in a story. i wanted to explore it but i knew toshiko wouldn't let me so i didn't ask, haha.
on the way back, we got a taxi,oh my goodness. it was so lucky. and j taxisare so comfy - automatic doors, very plush seats, drivers who look respectable and wear white gloves.
at the station we had some cute j cakes and coffee, bought a cake for yu (sou doesn't like sweets) and then came home.

it was very fun.
next weekend we are going to hiroshima for sightseeing! after, we are going to shinhiroshima, both to see a concert and to see where the college is, i'll be taking my j profiency test there. aaahhh!

alright that's my life now. see you next time sou and yu are asleep and i can use the computer! haha :)

church today was a party. seriously. there was a new fam with 2 kids, one girl in college. we bonded.

we also got lunch. it was sooo good. they had these giant cakes that tasted like fig newtons. they were bigger than my fist. i ate too many. and some onigiri. tasty.

the rest of the day was boring. i did math homework. even in japan they have math.

that's my exciting life for today oh me oh my.

sorry i haven't been here much. between sou and yu it is impossible to grab the computer - though sou's been much less addicted since he got his psp. oh sou.

today was very cute! first i am finally at a point with kimiko where we can hug and not be gross awkward. same with my host mom. and masaki, though i haven't seen masaki lately. no wonder, her school will pass 10 out of the 100 kids applying, and japanese only apply to one college. i think she's going insane. her test is in english and i know she is not good enough...

homeroom was the funniest thing - so yoshimi is this goofy girl, very funny. she was talking to endo when the bell rang but she sort of lingered because seo-sensei was late. lisa (a japanese, not a new exchang :<) grabbed this empty bottle someone had dropped on the ground and balanced on yoshi's bag, so when she spun around to go to her seat, it fell off. she thought she had knocked it off this weird boy, ogawa's, desk. so she turns really red (ogawa is creeeeepy) and says gomen nasai!!! and puts the trash on his desk. he just stares at her. she is halfway to her seat when lisa and doi and i almost dying laughing made her realize she made a mistake. ahhh chigau?! she runs back - sensei is here now and he is telling her to sit down. she throws the trash at doi and then darts back. it was hilarious. she was sooo red hahaha.

j girls are silly girls.

hiromi and i walked to the station again. i love her and her friend now my friend mika. i also saw the chubby third year girl and her friends - she wasn't looking so i sneaked up and terrified her. i love terrifying people.

today i ran across saori and kei, two really cute girls in my class and i guess we were talking and they asked what i would do on the weekend. go to church. ohhh. it turns out that saori lives in a temple!! nifty!! i totally want to see, j temples are really pretty (i took a million of t-ko's friend junko's. sooo many gold things!) then saori says "kei lives in the liver."

the liver.

she meant the river, i got after a second and then i just cracked up. she thought it was because it was somehow an "american joke" (and it sort of is, who doesn't love insulting their friends houses?) but it was because she said kei lived in a liver. ls and rs are my favs.

tonight we are eating tacoyaki, that is octopus balls. they are okay.

i got a letter from sarah!! thank you sarah. i sent one back it is killer cute.
i got thanksgiving stuff from my granparents, thank you, i will have a thanksgiving party! i gave some napkins to toshiko, she loooves them.
i got a package from deb! i already specified the magazines i want for next time so for now thaank you! and thanks for the letter it made me very happy. my teeth are doing okay.
okay that is all for now. only i want to send new years cards so you can comment here. comments are screened. give me your address and i'll send you a j new year's card! (jew years card)

oh wow go mccain...poor guy.

anyway this week was nice. detective conan is on tv now, i love it. i had watched it in english towards the end of my anime days - it's basically a mystery show. very cool.

sou got a psp this week and has become the world's biggest nerd times two. oh well, i do like him. ahahaha yesterday he was on the computer and - you know when you slip, and you know you're gonna fall, but it take a really, really long time to fall all the way? - that's what he did. SO. FUNNY. he was laughing too.

yu's birthday is next tuesday. she wants pocky. and she wants pocky for christmas, too. i still don't understand her. one night she is totally cute and goofy and playing with her 9 million stuffed dogs (well, 2, anyway) and then, tonight, she has appropriated the psp and is in her own world. tomorrow morning when we go back to school (today was a vacation) she will be grumpy and angry and mean. what a headache. but i'm starting to like her too, i guess.

today toshiko had a concert! it was at her friend jyunko's temple. first a bunch of preists prayed and did buddhist stuff and then she played the piano. it was fun, eveyrone got to sing along. jyunko's husband is a buddhist preist so they have this giant house attached to a giant temple, and then a little temple for some fox god and a big old graveyard with the remains of an old king of mihara and a vending machine. pretty neat. very japanese, all the way down to that vending machine.

i took about 50 pictures of the place so if my parents mail me my camera cord there will be photos. otherwise, wait till feburary, okay? :)

it seems pretty crazy, but in 2 weeks i'll be half-way through my time here! i like japan, i like japanese life (except for the crummy rule about no eating in class) but i am looking forward to coming home, too.

i have to go to the dentist again tomorrow. i am unhappy. i hate the dentist, but two of my fillings - one of them in the front- just popped out, and i can see a cavity on my back tooth. but now i am terrified for my teeth and brush about five times a day so i guess some good came of it...? hard to believe when i am giving the dentist some money for hurting me.

okay i better go. let's go election!

excuse me what?

lol this could beh ost brother if the computer suddenly died.
basically to everyone in the world: please don't let video games become your identity. or the computer or internet.

also chris left the hush sound. BOO HISS, CHRIS.

now japanastuff:

so two fillings decided to pop out of my mouth, ironically enough one while flossing and the other one while brushing my teeth. then a massive black spot decided to go settle itself on one of my back teeth. i emailed deb and she said it would be okay to go to the dentist without insurance, so long as i used the credit card she got me. only the dentist will only take cash and the atms won't spit it out, because i haven't got the pin number.

oh what a blast. now i have to go find a bank.

there's a new alt in the area! she's stacy from jamaica. i think she is here to replace amy, who went to tokyo. stacy has the cutest laugh ever, and she agrees vhemently (misspelled i know lol) that j tv is bizarre.

yu's birthday is coming up, 11/11, make a wish. my wish is that she will start making some sense. like one day she is acting like she is very cute and girly and the next day she is a furious banshee that will rip anyone's (my) head off so much asl ook at her. once she ran upstairs and wouldn't eat dinner because toshiko suggested she share her hot tea with sou and i; another time she wouldn't stop giggling over the text message this kid she likes had sent her. anyway i asked her what she wanted. she said POCKY. not a fancy kind, just the milk chocolate kind that is like a dollar.

i am delighted. pocky is dirt cheap.

i am getting much better at tea ceremony! there are all those silly little things, like stand up on your left leg and turn around to the right, and fold the fukusa this way and not ever ever that way, or we'll kill you, but now i can remember most of them and what do you know, now tea ceremony is kind of fun.

okay, credit card problems solving time. ugh. love you all and laters.

this week was very nice. i think i am starting on what afs calls the 'adjustment stage', ie, i'm starting to think it's a good oppurtunity i have instead of freaking out every time i don't understand someone.

(which is all the time of course)

this weeks I AM AN AWESOME ASIAN award goes to hiromi sohama. she has always been very nice to me and once i happened to fall into step walking to the station with her. she is also so cute. but this thursday she was just totes awesome. lol. okay so thursday morning it was drizzling just a leetle bit. i figured it would stop, and it did, all the way from homeroom to last period to when i was halfway to the station, which is where i was when i realized i had forgotten my umbrella.

and then the rain came back and it was a torrent. oh man. kill me. i didn't want to go back, i would miss the train. so i kept on but fairly glumly. i hate rain. then i heard someone running and it's hiromi with her umbrella going "eri! eri--!" (which is what some girls call me, i like it, much more then liz anyway) she made me share it with her and she walked me to the station and then i had to run to the post office to mail letters. i stopped at the 7-11 and i bought some tasty banana bread and hiromi and i shared it and it was all awesome. azusa and megumi and yu (not my host sister, this one is class 2 yu) turned up and they joined us and we had a grand time.

so thank you ~hiro~ for rocking.

there was more but today toshiko and i are going to this town, onori's, festival and i want to eat some tasty an-filled bread before i go.

write letters please.

LOL WHO CALLED JERSEY. I CALLED JERSEY. lolll

today yu is sick so i got to go to school alone. i rocked. got on the train and then i met up with masaki.

okay. yesterday toshiko and i bought some groceries after the concert in takehara. we were standing in line and then all a sudden something ATTACKS me. hollly canoli. i freaked out in english. it was masaki, the punk. with big endo and a sweet b. oh holy crap. so scary.

anyway so we practiced some awesome english. gogogogo english! and masaki is good.

school was schooly, i guess. this week's cleaning is in the classroom. gym today was the most intense badminton. mao and me versus the world.

lolll we lost but it was still fun.

theres a place near my school that hires mentally handicapped people. i call them...well i won't tell you that. but anyway there are 3 that are super scary. the worst started trying to talk to me so i ran over to some 3rd year girls that looked nice. it was nice to talk to them. i filled them in on my fake love life so they would stop asking me which one of the very cool nearby boys was the coolest. (i like the one with fab hair, even though the monkey face was waving at me)

okay computer is acting weird. j town is okay. i would like someone to send me a couple of harry potters please. not the first or the fourth but any of the others. the school library has all of them -- plus jane eyre the comic book and this totally dirty series called gorogo 13 which is the most sexist, disgusting comic book ever -- but in japanese, of course.

i am going to watch palin on snl some more.

lol watching tv.

j tv is nuts. i love the commercials, they're all insane.

there was just a ridiculously dramatic cartoon about baseball on. i call it Ridiculously Dramatic Cartoon About Baseball. there was a kid in it whose voice actor's voice was so high it actually hurt to listen to. now there is something called the telepathy girl ran and i guess that is obvious.

anyway today was slow. this is okay. i cleaned my room and sang some music. i do not recall if i said i wanted to try out for chamber choir when i get back but i do. i want to join a lot of clubs. or at least have a lot to do. idk being here all you can do is really go out and now i really love going out and being busy and stuff so yeah. i might try for a life when i get home.

although sassy and amanda we need to do some more jew in an emo band practice, of course. and see the hush sound. lolll how cool would it be if they are at the crocodile rock cafe on march 7th next year, too. (rachel you will come with us this year okay)

yu was on the computer today from 10 am until now, 6:30. she said her eyes don't hurt. she's a ~liar~!

an earlier rally, in Mesilla, N.M., Biden took aim at a comment from rival Sarah Palin, in which she said she loves visiting "pro-America" parts of the country. Biden said he believed the whole country is patriotic.

lol i hope biden doesn't come to princeton.
how's america these days? i love news. i am terrified for the election. there is good and bad about both of them. i iwll be dying on nov 4th just so you know. we are a day ahead so iget to worry an extra 24 hours.

also the guy playing george-o in the new w. movie looks nothing like him. man oh man.

ran the telepathic girl's voice is very high. yu is doing the dishes. what a good girl. sou is playing video games. he has been doing so all day wow.

general question parentals: if i get a cavity or something like that does the insurance let me go to the dentist? i think i should go at least once while i am here.

ran the telekinetic girl is glowing...and screaming. dramatic. maybe she will rip off a carrie and blow up her j world in the next episode. i hope so. the more dramtic j cartoons and commercials i see the better.

oh hey! if you're in japanese at phs you know CHURASAN. okay so everyone here totes loves it. it is like friends. even if you don't watch it you know all ythe characters names and you care what they are doing with their lives.

OMG the tv is playing PONYO. STOP. it's a new ghibli movie and the song from it is sooo catchy. it's like i kissed a girl only cute. but it's driving me insane. it is everywhere.

oh random note about school: i hate waiting for the train. like this week when we were getting out early, all our exams ended one minute after the train left. now if rachel was here and rachel was 25 feet tall, she could just carry me home, but she's not, and so i have had to wait for an entire hour and a half at a time. MORE TRAINS JAPAN PLEASE AND MORE OFTEN.

okay that's all. bye.

hi bros and broettes.

on wednesday we got home early from exams and toshiko invited me to come to her studio. she has 3 places for lessons, the house, her studio in takehara, and this new place we went, in akitsu. it is her friend's family's house, they have a piano in a building she can use.

her friends were totally nice. i was waiting with 2 of t-ko's students, 2 middle schoolers, yoko and yukari. yoko was older, she's in 9th grade which means she will go to high school next year. yukari was louder, she's in 8th. both were so cute.

the friend's daughter had a 5 year old son running around. one of t's other students is this 4 year old girl, she came and so did her brother. crazy babies i tell you! you all know how i somehow rile up little kids to run around and attack, right? yeah, no different in japan. they kept squirming under the table and tickling my feet and laughing whenever i said i would eat them.

they had a dog! first nice dog in j town. it was this cute pit bull named booboo who is 14 years old. deb, imagine having tori for 12 more years?

so anyway they gave us all snacks -- this tasty stuff called mochi, you put it in soup with these beans that taste like candy -- and i got dinner, for free~ lalala. we always eat miso soup but t's friends made it ~onionless~. i was in heaven. it was all mushroms which were very tasty.

the kid's friends went home, obvs, and then -- his name is tomo, right -- tomo was all tired and was watching tv. guess what he was watching.

the powerpuff girls

in

japanese. omg it was so crazy. like i know everyone can do dubbing but it was weird seeing american characters speaking japanese (yesterday of ocurse spongebob was on tv and that was just bizarre.) anyway tomo was nuts. he loves that show and he knew every word. he kept saying all the words ahead of time. i was worried, because you know you are watching too much tv when you know every word to every powerpuff girls, there are only like 2 billion episodes, but it turned out to be a dvd which is...sort of okay.

anyway so they were all very lovely. it was cool getting to go to someone else's house. is it...yes, first time i have.

fact: i miss surbhi
fact 2: also amanda and marsha
fact 3: and rachel and clara and marina and everyone. again, i think you should all just come here to live.

but if you won't -- jerks -- you can write me~!

anywaaaay i sang yesterday with toshiko on her piano. we sang old j songs -- it was very hard to read the hiraganas so fast! but i did it because i'm a japanese princess who just needs a japanese name.

the jgirls call me eri. did i say this already? they do. i think it is cute.

so right it was fun. she gets all goofy at the sad songs, ahahaha. she is the cutest person i am sooo happy i ended up here. sou and yu are...better? i get closer to understanding them every day. i don't mind them.

tonight home alone 3 is on tv. lolllll. we will watch it in english, when there are english movies we always do. we have seen men in black one and two (what a treat, lolnot) and charlie's angels (sou loved that one) and howl's moving castle, only that was just j. last week there was a saturday movie, bloody monday. i watched that. it was totally goofy, i love j horror.

anyway i must be off. got to read american news and stuff before sou gets home and is like I NEED TO PLAY A COMPUTER GAME FOR 19 HOURS RIGHT NOW.
